A Mussoorie Wedding by Panchhi Events Combines Western and Indian Style Ceremonies
Panchhi Events managed a wedding for an NRI client at the JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove & Spa on Feb 17 and 18. A total of 4 functions were organised over 2 days.
On the client brief, Rishabh Panchhi, Director, Panchhi Events said, “Since the client was from the US, they wanted a western-style ceremony and reception. And the family here wanted something that would also be traditional.”
The first day saw the main family members arrive. The agency transported everyone from the airport to the hotel, welcomed them, and handed them hampers. Panchhi added, “We gave them ‘ladkiwala’ and ‘ladkawala’ caps, and also placed individualised room hampers for everyone.”
On that same evening, a small mehendi ceremony took place for 25 people, only those closest to the couple.
The next day, the rest of the guests arrived. Again, the agency coordinated all pick-ups, welcoming all guests, and again providing room hampers. Upon their arrival at the hotel, guests were directed to the lunch area, which was set up with multi-coloured jhoolas, garlands, and other festive elements. A celebratory ceremony took place here.
The evening featured a cocktail party with a black and maroon theme, while DJ Moni from Lucknow kept the guests entertained.
The next morning, Panchhi Events placed newspapers featuring the events of the previous evening, outside the rooms of all guests.
The morning saw a half hour long baraath take place on the main lawn, which was decorated in a yellow, beige and white theme. Panchhi remarked, “Since it was winter, there was no greenery and everything was really bare. So we compensated by setting up drapes everywhere to fill up the space.”
A couple of hours later, the Vidaai took place, followed in the evening by the main reception. A western-style toast party, the evening witnessed the screening of videos, the toast, and the couple’s first dance, followed by a party. Later, return gift hampers were given out.
